Program summary

  • If you want to kick-start your performance improvement journey within the physical, emotional and spiritual domains this program can be just the type of adventure to get you there
  • The program combines long days of hiking in the Galician wilderness with individual and group coaching sessions to help you assess your current habit systems, explore and test what science deem to be high-performance habits and set an ambition for your new behavioral system
  • No previous hiking experience necessary but be prepared to walk very long days, sleep in simple hostels and carry your essentials in this nomad expedition

Itenary

Day 1 - Santiago D.C. to Negreira (20km)

  • Welcome to Santiago de Compostela!
  • 09:00 CET: We meet at the Obradoiro square outside the main entrace of the cathedral and enjoy a local coffee before heading west towards Negreira
  • Individual coaching sessions are spread out during morning and afternoon
  • Evening group session: IQ Habits - Growth mindset

Day 2 - Negreira to Santa Mariña (21 km)

  • We continue west towards the edge of the known world in the middle ages
  • Hike out alone or in company but before 09:00 CET
  • Individual coaching sessions are spread out during morning and afternoon
  • Suitable refuel stops at A Pena or Vilaserío about 9-13 km ahead
  • Evening group session: PQ Habits - The pentagon of physical health

Day 3 - Santa Marina to Hospital (18 km)

  • Hike out alone or in company but before 09:00 CET
  • Individual coaching sessions are spread out during morning and afternoon
  • Suitable refuel stops at Lago, Oliveiroa or O Logoso about 13-15 km ahead
  • Evening group session: EQ Habits - Emotional intelligence

Day 4 - Hospital to Fisterra (26km)

  • Hike out alone or in company but before 09:00 CET
  • Individual coaching sessions are spread out during morning and afternoon
  • Suitable refuel stops at Cee and Corbubion about 14-16 km ahead
  • Evening group session: SQ Habits - The spirit at the end of the world
  • Group dinner (optional)

Day 5 - Fisterra to Santiago D.C. (Transfer)

  • Meet-the-sunrise-meditation and bath (optional)
  • Morning transfer to Santiago De Compostela (offered but everyone is welcome to stay or travel by other means)
  • Leave tired but renewed and ready to apply the learned peak performance habits

Getting there

  • There are regular flights from the UK and Europe to Santiago De Compostela. There are also trains and buses available from major Spanish cities

What to bring?

  • Backpack (25-45 liter) with rain cover (or use a garden plastic bag inside)
  • Clothes - go as light as possible
    • Sunglasses
    • Comfortable hiking shorts
    • Comfortable pants (for the evening)
    • Swimsuit
    • T-shirt x 2 (e.g. merino)
    • Light warmer jacket (e.g. fleece)
    • Rain jacket
    • Socks and underwear x 2 (wool recommended)
    • Hat or baseball cap
    • Buff

    • Sandals (for the evening)
  • Ditty bag
    • Sun cream with high SPF and lip balm with UV protection
    • Personal toiletries (please bring biodegradable products and bring a soap that you can also use for handwashing clothes)
